Richmond chiropractic spinal manipulation care is relieving and cost effective.

SPINAL MANIPULATION IS EFFECTIVE AND COST REDUCING FOR SPINE CARE

Johnson Chiropractic welcomes all spine pain patients! We know the frustration that comes with spine pain. Richmond chiropractic spinal manipulation is beneficial for many. Though low back pain is a major cause of disability globally, its sufferers who have persistent or recurrent episodes of low back pain realize that chiropractic maintenance care is beneficial as it is patient-centered care. (1) Neck pain sufferers, too, discover relief with chiropractic. Neck pain patients treated with spinal manipulation – 90% of which is delivered by chiropractors in the US – had lowered risk by 2.38 times to need higher level and more expensive care like imaging, injection, emergency room or surgery (just 26%) than patients who were treated with other type of care (46%). (2) A recent study of Medicare patient claims reports that patients who had reduced access to chiropractic care had a rise in visits (32.3 a year) to primary care physicians for spine pain and a rise in spine surgeries (5.5 a year) costing an extra $114,967 per 1000 Medicare beneficiaries and $391 million nationally. (3) Your Richmond chiropractor is well-skilled in performing spinal manipulation.  Spinal manipulation is and has been recommended as first-line treatment for low back pain. Reviews of Medicare claims point out that chiropractors are the majority of healthcare providers for spinal manipulation and that the general supply of spinal manipulation providers is dropping. (4) Don’t worry! Your hometown, Richmond chiropractor has no intention of not providing pain-relieving spinal manipulation, particularly the gentle, research-backed Cox® Technic style of spinal manipulation.

Listen to this PODCAST with Dr. Kurt Olding on The Back Doctors Podcast with Dr. Michael Johnson as he discusses the role of spinal manipulation in the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management for the relief of spinal stenosis, a common spine pain condition in the over-65 age group.

Johnson Chiropractic shares new research on the benefit of adequate B vitamin levels.

Richmond CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH:

Beneficial B Vitamins

B vitamins are beneficial. B12 deficiency is commonly linked with dementia in patients 65 years old and over. It has also been found in younger people who have normal B12 levels but have a high methylmalonic acid (MMA) level. Checking the MMA level may be a useful test in patients with symptoms that seem unconnected as in one patient with neuropathy, depression and stomach issues who was found to have a high MMA. (5) Biotin (B7) supplementation is showing potential in the treatment of neuropathic pain and could lessen the required doses of analgesic drugs. (6) Riboflavin (B2) in foods and via supplements is renowned for its antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects among others. A new study reported that B2 offers anti-itch properties. (7) How are your B levels? We’ll talk at your next visit!
